The McKinley Elementrary administration and staff brought in a visual artist, Cbabi Bayoc to create a mural that reflects McKinley's school culture, climate and diversity within the school. They wanted to show the schools pride of the dual language immersion program as well as other unique opportunities McKinley Elementary offers and they were not disappointed.

The mural highlights two special community members who have played important roles in shaping the school inside and out. (The late Maritza Robles, former SBCSC Director of Bilingual Services, former SBCSC School Board member and namesake for the dual language immersion program, and Dr. Tom Spencer, retired teacher and creator of McKinley's Unity Garden.

Cbabi (pronounced Kuh-bob-bi) Bayoc is a visual artist and illustrator residing in St. Louis, Missouri. His subjects include family, children, music and a bunch of other cool stuff designed with line, bold color and phunk!
